Dr Ellie Robson

I am a Lecturer in Ethics at King's College, London (2025-6). My research focuses on the ethics of Aristotle through the lens of under-appreciated figures in the history of 20th century philosophy. So far, I've published works on Mary Midgley's and Susan Stebbing's ethics. My work is committed to expanding the canon particularly to include more women figures.
Currently, I am working on a group of Neo-Aristotelian Naturalists which engage seriously in animal life and ethology e.g., Mary Midgley, Alasdair MacIntyre & Martha Nussbaum.

I am also:
-
Special Issues Editor at the Journal for the History of Analytic Philosophy (JHAP)
-
Administrator of The Aristotelian Society
-
Board Member of the Women In Parenthesis Project.

Read my recent article in Aeon here: 'So many unmarried men' - it's about a forgotten radio script written by Midgley which reveals a form of epistemic injustice (and suffers itself from the same kind of injustice). This was Aeon's most read article in February 2025.
